This is nice and all. Still I do have some concerns. First of all let me restate I don't own a True Blue, just the Cobra.
1. Duplex claimed to have cracked the TB dongle or their eboots. Problem is, like a few months ago, it all goes back to TB. Hack TB get TB games, but what about future games or other games TB didn't crack? Rely on TB? Expect them to keep cracking games on one hand while attacking their name with the other? Or do we get off our lazy butts and crack them ourselves? If sufficient effort is put into cracking those games then it would be okay to use a few shortcuts if they are actually shortcuts. After all of the BS that has been going on, I am convinced we would have already had a completely open system if we had just stuck to hacking the ps3 instead of turning our sights to the hands that feed just because they are capitalists. The scene's development over the next few months will either confirm or debunk this concern.
2. In conjunction with the last concern is how everything still ties to TB. The eboots come from TB either way if all people do is crack TB's eboots. At the same time, people's hatred is tied to TB. They're unable to think logically and can only think of attacking TB directly. Unfortunately for everybody else is that TB losing does not automatically mean we win. Before TB there really wasn't anything going on. When they showed up, many users benefited. With them gone will the scene keep up it's progress? Without a "monster" to fight, will the scene continue it's work? This wouldn't be a problem if the scene had stayed focused from the beginning.
3. There is two sides to the general underground scene. The "open source" group. And the Piracy group. There is sometimes a bit of overlap, but rarely and they are mostly in certain scenes, such as the ps3 scene and 360 scene. In the PS3 scene, the so called open source branch claims to be against piracy (though a case could be made this is merely to save public face and many in this group do probably pirate) as well as drm. They cry for a more open Ps3 and cite "hacker ethics" as their reason for hating TB. Problem is, nothing they do would really hurt TB, at least nothing that would actually make the ps3 more open. I bet they are just loving the announcement by Duplex. As a pirate, Duplex cracking TB would help me immensely, especially since I don't own a TB dongle, but as an open source fan, this doesn't really help me one bit since TB is still the key. The best way to attack TB would be to make it irrelevant, do it's job, only better, not assassinating their internet image while still expecting they do your work for you. They wouldn't really crack anything, because they have trapped themselves in a corner with their self-righteous anti-piracy image. This is why nothing has really happened during the last few months. People have been waiting for a pirate to give them what they want, that way they can pirate without looking like pirates. Lastly Duplex hasn't released how they cracked TB's eboots. This shows they are afraid TB may change their security for future eboots. As a pirate, I am okay with this, though I can't believe people haven't gone batshit insane about it. They have done exactly what TB did, not release any source. And for much the same reasons, fear about drm.
What's my point in all of this? My point is that Duplex and TB are similar in that they are both pirate groups, the difference is that one charges money and the other doesn't, but being free has never justified withholding source code to the open source community. Actually there are even programs that are open source, but also make profits. With piracy groups there is more usually to keeping the game up as in, if something could jeopardize future releases or cracks, information may be withheld. Also with piracy groups it doesn't so much matter whether source is available, all that matters is if one can get it for free. Then there is the overlap of two kinds. The first kind includes myself. I disagree with the existence of copyright or patents, never have liked them. But I also don't feel angry at those selling entertainment or software. Actually to me, copyright has never benefited the producers of entertainment, it's just a way to make groups like the MPAA and RIAA as well as record labels rich off of the people that actually deserve. Selling a million albums doesn't amount to much when you only get around 1 to ten percent of the profits. I do buy things as well. And the thing that determines whether I buy or pirate, whim or convenience. Sometimes it is just more convenient to buy it for a few bucks and have them send me a disc than to wait a month for a torrent to finish. And then there are the games where it is much better to pirate, such as games that come bundled with malware or have a bunch of hoops to jump through.
And the second group are pirates that use the open source movement to get free stuff. A lot of the ps3 scene open source people fall into this group.
As for Duplex. I repeat, as a pirate, I benefit, so will you if you are a pirate. If you want a more open ps3 and don't much care for the piracy side, it won't come from duplex, not directly anyway, keep your eyes peeled for the keys or updates on cex2dex.
Hmm well I'd heard a few whispers that TB were all but screwed on a few different fronts..
This may be the straw that breaks the camels back.. don't overly care really, not hard to go to DEX 4.xx and rent a game for a couple nights.

My guess/theory is that no team really cracked TB they just debugged the current eboots that TB already made... I think I am 98% right if I was wrong like I said in my original post release newer games and not the ones TB already made.
Yes it is true that the cloners could only use existing TB patches. However, E3 has released a few patches that were never released by TB (Disney Universe, COD Modern Warefare 2 patch, maybe others). If they release keys as they said they would do recently, then newer games like Darksiders 2 will be playable via CFW.
Paradox Eboots require TB dongle in order to work?
Duplex Eboots work without TB dongle on CFW3.55?
So why do we need Paradox TB Eboots anymore? Surely Duplex has enough information now to do this all by themselves and produce eboots for the latest games, Why are people saying we're still reliant on TB?
I'm puzzled
My Brains telling me we no longer need TB, but ill just wait and see.........
Lightake was expecting the new dongle yesterday. Instead they got no news from TB team, just silence. The thing is, a lot of people pre ordered the dongle months ago. Those guys are pissed off. Lightake had no explanation so they had to offer a refund for the pre orders.
Talk about EXCELLENT customer service on a business-to-business level - no wonder everyone's pissed off with the Blue Bastards.

My guess is that they have either worked out the keys TB used to sign their eboots or have worked out how the dongle works.
If they start releasing games that were not previously patched by TB, then they must have worked out the whole method.
Only time will tell, who knows? TB might come back out of nowhere..
