I didn't mean it like that, I was just saying that something similar to this has been possible for a while, though a lot of graf_chokolo's work is often brushed over once new news is released, so I posted to remind people.
Yeah, 100% of Glevand work was only possible because of 'graf_chokolo' releasing his 'sony b i b l e' after his second raid by Sony.
Only reason why I didn't mention in the 'front page' news post, is one of the only 'takedown' notices we got in the past was because of
hosting his 'b i b l e', as Crunch was the main supporting of Graf's work, hosting his blog and files, and under an agreement of his lawyers it was best to remove the files and not promote his name.
I have more on this subject, but for rights of privacy my lips have been sealed, just know that because of his ground-breaking work alot of things we see today is possible, sadly it just took a long time for people to understand his notes and files.
Remember this is only a POC, but with this and all the talk I see recently in the 'PS3DevWiki', we could soon see thanks to this hard-working 'scene' developers, a easy way to swap PS3 HDD's and access them on PC, without all the 'locks' that Sony placed on it.
So does this mean that for people with YLOD systems we can now finally access content from our harddrives by connecting it to a PC? Because HDs are locked to the PS3 system on which it was formatted on. But since my system died a couple of years ago I never was able to recover my pictures, videos, and most importantly game saves. And thanks to everyone for their hard work on advancing the scene.
The best thing is 'future-prevention' now that we can access the unique keys in the EID, dump them and store them away in a safe place.
So in the future if your PS3 dies from YLOD, you might be able to decrypt and save your stuff.
The best I think will be 'disable it 100%', since our machines are running CFW and not going online, why have lock on our HDD, just run a PKG that grabs the unique keys, and reads the whole drive and rewrites it unencrypted, and then disables that function.

Kind of like the xbox 1 days?
Would be very nice to be able to hook hdd up to PC and read it
Just like I do with my jtag HDD
What I need to replace instead of XXXX's ? What keys?
You need to replaces xxx with the real key seed values, it comes from some isolated modules in firmware and all of them are in the wiki just look at it.
Look at this page and you will find all what you asked about: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/HDD_Encryption
