Cut everything from your USRDIR except for the EBOOT and paste it in your BCES/BCUS directory.
Example - I cut everything from BCES00802\PS3_GAME\USRDIR and pasted it in my BCES00802 directory.
Best to have the patch installed as well, especially if you've got existing save data on your PS3 from the game.
Game boots, installs and runs like a charm. Hope this helps others.
Good grief! Some of the stuff that needs to be done to run games from DEX is a problem. I'm glad to not have converted over yet TBO. I say this with no ill intent towards dean, aldos,& others. I know they're working hard for us to have better options from DEX. That's why I'm deciding to wait.
Good things come to those who wait! I do know mmDM is certainly a big step because we can now run games from LAN but not easy in doing so. Takes away some of the limits that BDEMU placed on DEX users like only 4 games at a time. Thanks!

multiMAN and mmDM accept up to 10 partitions (0 .. 9)

Yep! I'm still on my good 'ol 3.41 CFW. LOL! I have to explain my reasons as to why. With the exception of 2 newer game backups(Madden 13 & MLB 12: The Show) I can still play all games I want to play from 3.41. However, the biggest reason for me not converting to DEX is options. I have a 500 GB internal HDD that I bought a couple years back so I would have enough space for PS3 needs.
Now, with DEX, I need to have another USB HDD in order to play newer game titles. That leaves my internal HDD with leftover space for PS3 needs. Yes, I can still use it for CFW games(3.55 or 3.41) but I don't have a ton of games on it anyhow. Have plenty of space for more stuff. If the option was available to do all of this(CFW games & DEX only games) from an internal HDD then I would jump on DEX conversion in a heartbeat! I would love the option to do all of this from my internal HDD or an option to use 1 USB HDD without forcing it for strictly BDEMU only.
I have other USB HDD's is usage with other gaming systems. If I could take one of those & have different partitions then I could swap it back & forth between DEX usage from PS3 & usage for my other gaming systems. Right now, I don't have any of these options. Is there a chance soon that all of this could be implemented for internal HDD usage guys? Or, at least not forcing the USB HDD as BDEMU only? That's what I'm looking & hoping for! Thanks!

Tony, I'd do the same if I were in your shoes. These DEX improvements will certainly prove useful in few months, but currently most of the stuff is semi-POC - it works, but it takes some skills and is not suitable for the average GregoryRasputin sometimes. I'm not a 'player' (not when it comes to PS3 games ) but it allows me to test things that may be of interest and help to people like you.

Yeah! The only real thing holding me back from converting is not being able to use my internal HDD for all of my PS3 needs. I bought a bigger one for a reason. You see I play mostly sports games anyhow. I'm not into most of those so-called big name releases. Once internal HDD becomes an option for everything PS3 related(CEX & DEX) then I'm on DEX like a junebug on grass.

HAHAHAHAHA! I've seen whatcha done there!
On a serious note - I can't wait to test this out again, now that I've completed Max Payne/Max Payne 2!
I'm back with another how-to! This time it's Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
You'll need your game, ripped to your PC hard drive and the 1.01 patch from EXEtrimALL.
Unpack the 1.01 package and change all instances of dev_bdvd to app_home in the eboot and the selfs, then re-encrypt them again. You'll also need to decrypt and then re-encrypt the sprx files as well.
Use mmDM to turn the bin, self and sprx files into debug versions.
Do not install the 1.01 package you downloaded. It will lock your game up, and you'll get frustrated like I did.
Instead, you can make a backup [if you want - I didn't bother] of your original bin, self and sprx files and replace them with the 1.01 debug versions.
Boot the game via LAN and all should be in order. Hope this helps others :]
Mortal Kombat 9 / Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition via LAN! This was fairly difficult, purely because ProDG was next to no help in troubleshooting.
Decrypt and re-encrypt your eboot and the sprx. Cut and paste your SAVEGAMEART, SPLASH, LOCALIZATION, ASSET and CONFIG folders to your BLES/BLUS folder. All that should remain in your USRDIR is the EBOOT.BIN, DFENGINE.SPRX and the MOVIES folder. For the love of all the is holy, the MOVIES folder has to be in your USRDIR. Now you're free to boot the game and play. Patch 1.05 and the DLC available online work as well.
For the 'Komplete Edition' follow the same steps outlined above, but you also need to download MKKEBLES.rar and install the package as you usually would for a DEX machine.
