it would not bother me to buy the dongle, as I am pretty sure evilsperm may be telling the truth about his project being spoofers / SEN enabler.
the only thing that bothers me is that it costs per update. so you pay and keep paying. That irks me a bit. also, and from what I read, they disabled any homebrew from working on it. I didn't like how with True Blue you were locked in and couldn't use some of the new homebrew. ( there was a few but right now all i remember is PSusercheat. ) and also, you will loose multiman. They said they were going to release their own backup manager called red power or something like that if I read right. And I can bet that it will not have the flare and options of multiman.
well with those problems i probably won't lol. time will tell tho.

Are you shure about not being able to run homebrew?
I know it probably won't have peek & poke, just like TB CFW. But other homebrew shouldn't be a problem...

from what i could translate from duowan, they said no homebrew worked. and they were thinking about allowing reactPSN to work for it.

For sure homebrew will not work right now in 4.2x CFW, that does not means Team Red Power disabled it but this is normal because all system functions/calls used by this homebrews or backup managers like MultiMan had different offsets now and they need to be updated to work fine in this version.
So if this CFW released what we will have to do to run this Homebrews or current backup managers is just update its source code with new functions calls/offsets then recompile it again, after that we can run any Homebrew we want to run.
Also if you remember for example memDump 0.01 does not run on JFW 3.56 CFW, that does not mean this was disabled in this VFW but it does not run because syscalls have a different offsets in this versions so current version of this tool will not work.
that may be true, but it does not mean all developers will re-release there projects updated for it. Didn't see many people updating things just for true blue. i am sure dean would. but some people don't really care , or at least they didn't for true blue. ( Even tho I can only think of two instances that homebrew would not work on TBCFW. )

and i figured they would purposly try and disable homebrew from being run. because of apps such as memdumper. they used a special version of multiman in the demo. and i cant find it now but i was pretty sure they said they will release a back up manager to work for their CFW.
i wish something would happen....I hate rumors.

Also, some people say so what to this cfw 4.xx. Because they have dex. but Even so i think the CFW 4.xx would be better than DEX. you still play new discs, hombrew, and new rips. and you wouldn't have to downgrade to DEX 3.55 peek poke to play the your older stored games. plus you would regain the movie playback options of your ps3. and even on DEX you got to wait for the patch if one will be released. Unless i am missing something. if so please let me know.
Np Piratan thats about right, plus converting to DEX can be a pain in the ass for NOOBS especially hence more bricking, but a dongle can brick too as well I guess. I never had any problems with TB dongle, but I basically knew what I was doing. Another lesser cared about option though with TB dongle couldnt play PS1 burned disc or any Ps1 emu games (hence part of MGS4) because of the TB payload. But if what Dean says is correct (that the payload is hermes) then PS1 emu should work as well 4GB splitting.
Dont know if dex supports PS1 emulation or external 4GB+ splitting. Basically thats Hermes only from what I know.
