I have only expressed my opinion, after the dramatic experience with TrueBlue, i would like to prevent a similar situation were so new, and i am sure others who have the TB feel the same way.
Of course, all we want that the scene was free, but as far as does not allow it if its there is a need for another dongle.
I hope that it will not be with the DRM but especially will be continuously updated and at the same time there will be a support by hardware and software that is very active on the part of developers, if they can show that they know how to manage their best work, then they can also have all my esteem toward them.
But beyond this discourse, there are few details at the moment, we do not yet know nothing, nor if there will be really this dongle or whether it will be sold then we will just have to wait and see what happens in the near future.
I hope all the best as possible for this scene, even if I see very hard and everything is quite sad.
I have nothing against a new dongle. What I don't want though is for the scene to go back to monster fighting. Last year this scene did pretty much nothing, nothing to enable newer games. The ones who did were always pestered by the elite "hackers", white knight anti-pirates, a and the very benefactors of the games, i.e. the leechers. Conditions were created that made nobody want to help anybody in that regard. Along came True Blue. People loathed them. They hated them with a fiery passion. Yet still, not much was done to fill the void that True Blue was filling. Everybody only cared about driving True Blue away, but nobody really cared about improving the scene. To them a scene locked in the middle ages that was free was better than a scene that had progression, but at a cost. I get that some really hate paying money, yet if we continue to forget about the market, somebody will come to fill it. In other words, they hate them, but want them to come back, they need a monster to fight. IMO though, a market with both an open source contender and a closed source contender would vastly improve the scene through competition.

the only thing that bothers me is that it costs per update. so you pay and keep paying. That irks me a bit. also, and from what I read, they disabled any homebrew from working on it. I didn't like how with True Blue you were locked in and couldn't use some of the new homebrew. ( there was a few but right now all i remember is PSusercheat. ) and also, you will loose multiman. They said they were going to release their own backup manager called red power or something like that if I read right. And I can bet that it will not have the flare and options of multiman.
well with those problems i probably won't lol. time will tell tho.
I never had a True Blue, but I do have a Cobra and there was only a couple of things I can remember not working right for one reason or another. PS3usercheat for one and I think I remember there being some problems with ReActPSN that involved the ps3 resetting act.dat if the ps3 was started without cobra patches since it saw that as another firmware. Emulators should be fine unless this team purposely prevents things like that. In that case it would be a disaster for them. Blocking things like that does them no help I could assure you of that. Also I doubt that they can use a pay to update as that would drive away much more sales than it could ever bring in. And how would they enforce it? Buy a new dongle every update. Not going to happen for most. If a $60 one time fee was worthy of death for this scene then paying per update would be worthy of burning in hell for this scene. If they enforce it by paying online and getting the files that way, then the firmwares will be quickly released for free. If they try to force your ps3 to be online in order to update than many will not even be able to use it. Just a year ago it was impossible for me to connect my ps3 online because I had an aircard. I had to buy a router that worked with the usb modem. If I was still in that situation I could not use this new dongle if it required online authentication from the ps3. So there smartest course of action is to make payment a one time action or else they seal their deal, missing out on the brand loyalty that True Blue had. They may still not have that following since even though the releases have slowed down, they still keep coming. Unfortunately, the leechers may run them out soon when they get impatient. Let's hope that doesn't happen though.
As for me, I doubt I would buy it. I didn't buy a True Blue because at the time I had a 360. Now I also have a gaming PC, so I doubt I would even more. And at the end of the day I still don't want to give up my cobra features.

Just looking back through this thread and others like it.. I find it funny how a few people seem to pop up out of nowhere when a new dongle is about to be released to say "Yay a new dongle" or defend the usefulness of a dongle.
All the time these TB ripped game releases, then Update patches (which furthered what TB did) and then a few games TB havent done.. these same people were nowhere to be seen. No "Great job for the free releases", "Wow game updates, TB never did that THANKS".
I hope you all do buy a dongle and it costs $60+ coz its gonna be hell funny to watch

Screw it, I'll bite because we know you love to pester.
I was happy NoDRM released their things. Did I post anything? I honestly forget. I think it was just a matter of time.
Maybe those of us who post going "okay a new dongle, I'm game for it regardless of the naysayers" only pop up because we know the naysayers will keep going no matter what on anything. Sometimes it's just a "post to offer a counter opinion and perhaps try to put some thought into it", because you and your ilk who are notorious for attacking dongle buyers (and let's not forgetting having a breakdown leading to a banning then coming back under an alt) will come out no matter what repeating the same thing.
You want trolls or something? Go ahead and try to lure them out.
Why would it amuse you to watch people buy a dongle? We bought TB and enjoyed releases and got money's worth. Now it's all out for free but that's nearly a year later and the games have been played and beaten. There's no looking back going "Oh man, I coulda saved that $60 and waited months! I'm an IDIOT!" crap going on because -- gasp -- some of us could easily afford the TB at the time and the money it cost for it was more than earned back the next day after the purchase.
No one is trying to alter your opinion. No one is posting to attack you, or those who hate dongles.
Discussions sometimes involve viewpoints contrary to your own. Some of us like to offer up those opinions at times when it's obvious the "same people" will come in offering their same opinions.
In other words: you're just as guilty as those you are attempting to mock.

Correct, it should make a total reflection very wide on this sentence, instead of thinking only to business, market and hunger for money, when there are thousands of developers not only for console but also for your smartphone for example, such as Android, that they work for free and release updates for devices without asking for anything in return,
Unlike the developers of the manufacturers that are issuing an update every year, which is to say, do so only for passion and freedom of sharing with the public, and everyone is happy and unaware of any obstacle, such as in this scene has never been, that it seems only a large circus haunted by demons.

Donīt blame the buyers. Blame the devs who doesnīt release their knowledge for free.
Kudos to NODRM! Kudos to Deank! BUT, also Kudos to the people that are smart enough to beat Sony security (OFW) (donglers and no donglers).

Pester?? I just put it out there.. I just thought of it as I was reading through the thread.. if no one replied Id hardly have kept hammering at it.
I was happy NoDRM released their things. Did I post anything? I honestly forget. I think it was just a matter of time.
Thats my point though.. These guys have been at it for months and you'll get around to saying thanks when your busy schedule allows..
However within 24hrs of a possible new dongle being announced.. you jump into dongle defence mode.. making sure you and your friends all have different colour lipstick on to leave that nice rainbow

notorious.. goddamn you pull it!
I only gave back HALF of what I was given for helping or knowing about anti-TB crap.
I had my "breakdown' (wtf) about the time me and Mark decided to tackle the JB2, made a nice thread and had EVERY fucktard and his poodle in there or PM'ing me telling me I was gonna stop their EBOOT supply. I got much the same with the TB disk work.
Dont make me out to be some kind of anti TB zealot! I think the people who just say DRM is satan are just as retarded as those who come from nowhere to tout the awesomeness of a new dongle! (DRM is bad.. just sayin)
Oh btw, Gary PM'd me ages ago and said "Welcome back" etc
Ive talked to Dang since, Im pretty sure we're cool.
You want trolls or something? Go ahead and try to lure them out.
Success....
Why would it amuse you to watch people buy a dongle?
Because one other team are obviously at or around the same point as your new messiah *cough* sorry as Team Blue Disk
Also now that the general idea is out.. 1 maybe 2 other teams are looking into it very seriously also

Would you have still thought AWESOME MAN if before your dongle had arrived from China a free solution had arrived?

Same here.. just made an observation is all....

Screw helping the community, screw giving a bit back.

I'll never be as guilty as someone who just pops their head up to say "Dongles FTW"
I just snapped a turd more useful than those people

Not blaming the buyers dude.. just made an observation how certain people (who are green and live under bridges) come out to say hi when a new dongle pops up.
I cant bag out buyers.. I guarantee I spent more on dongles than anyone else here
