just wondering if anyone had this error before trying to watch a bluray movie? "this disc cannot be played , error 8002997F"
googled it all night last night and could only find some german forums n couldnt understand it enough with the translator
using kmeaw 3.55

you're not on DEX are you? nevermind you said kmeaw bluray board may not be remarried properly.

What movie is it? if it is newer it may only work if you update your ps3. Spoofers will not help.

I have read that sometimes when a drive is going dead it will error up that way.

Yeah i also read may need system update, but didnt suggest as you'd lose Kmeaw etc
As far as new movies I always use MultiAVCD to convert them to play on the external HDD rather than play them from the bluray drive

yeah on the newer movies it tells me to do a system update.. a couple weeks ago ive used multimans region changer to watch a region A movie... i dunno if that might of stuffed something?

maybe i could try to remarry it? ... hopefully its not cause the bluray drives on its way out *fingers crossed* .. its a slim, bought it mid 2011

well if it is a new movie that requires higher firmware and you try and play it it will ask for you to update. but if I remember correctly, if you spoof the system and try it does not ask you to update but just gives you an error.

Just part of being on CFW, can't watch newer bd discs. I wouldn't try remarrying it. you may just cause more harm and I see little chance of that fixing your problem.

yeah but im getting this error with older discs, avatar, tropic thunder, i tried beverly hills chihauha 3 last night n got the same error, should of asked me to update with that movie i think

Well if you have bluray drive (other than ps3) you can just do what I do put them on external, havent had any problems.

is that what you do? yeah thats a good idea, dont hafta worry about regions or anything then.. i was thinking of just buying one of those toshiba region free 3D players.. theyre cheap, do ya know if theyre any good?
