ps3-Singstar allows to load songs from ps2-Singstar discs. Can Multiman / MMCM help to use backups rather than ps2 original discs?

Thanks again for the suggestion. For the sake of an update: I managed to get an original ps2-singstar disc and it seems, that the xmb-singstar has its own disc verification procedure, as it loads the contents of the ps2-singstar disc only in the following manner: launch xmb-singstar -> choose to load disc content -> insert disc -> disc checking (may take 5-10 seconds) -> ok.
It may be something about my ps3 being not backwards compatible and I wish I could check a phat console, which is.
Still a couple of things make me think that mM direct disc access could really change the way the ps2-singstar disc is treated by the console. But in fact I failed to convert singstar's EBOOT.BIN to a non-NPDRM RELOAD.SELF. I've tried scetool, make_fself and some resigning tools, but it's either black screen or back-to-xmb, when I try to load the resulting .selfs directly from multiman.
Could someone please specify the requirements for non-NPDRM RELOAD.SELF for Rogero-4.30-2.05 + the-latest-mM, or provide a link to the guide/article about converting bin/elf to non-NPDRM-self.
Showtime 4.1.368 Andreas Öman is now available online.
I compiled it with my changes and it should be ok with mM 04.18.00. Also I decreased the size of the pkg/self with 1MB.
* You can update your Showtime for multiMAN from within multiMAN via the Video column (select showtime, press Triangle and then Update)
* Showtime 04.01.368 [CEX].pkg standalone is available in the WEB column, too.
Yesterday, I was playing Battlefield 3 online and during my part my joystick drove me crazy when I moved the left pad down the key L1 is pressed or another random keys.
So durring the game, I found myself many time with a mine in hand, or lie on the ground instead of shout on the enemies ..
and impossible to know if it was from my joystick or a bug, see even a problem of sync bluetooth.
So, could you add a gamepad menu in the settings column for test if the game pad work well or need to change it :
- On the screen, you can put a game pad and highlighting the pressing button
- And a menu of tests that request us to press a 10xtimes down, 10xtimes (R1 + L1), move left x10, ....
after the all test that give us a summary that indicate which part seems to not work
I'll try to 'unlock' the locked discs (if the protection is not extended in the program sequences and is only in the IFO).
I succeeded in locking my 'region-free' discs so I wonder if I can unlock the locked ones If anyone is willing to test - I'll send a test mM version to check if the lock can be removed.
Well I have success in locking my region free DVDs
When I try to start the DVD it says:
This disc cannot be played.
The region code is not correct.
Is this the message you get when you try to play the movie?

@deank: I have a small note about mM on the new Rebug 4.30.1 CFW.
Yesterday a friend of mine and I had some strange, almost identical problems.
I my case: I had mM 04.17.03 and wanted to update to 04.18 via mM update function.
Everything went fine, the update was downloaded and I was prompted to return to XMB.
I did so, but I couldn't find the DLed pkg anywhere..It should have been in Package Manager -> Standard Package Location..but it wasn't.
After that, I did the whole procedure again, with an USB stick attached.
In that case the packages were there, but they were visible 3 times in the package manager, all 3 with different paths:
/dev_usb000
/dev_bdvd
/app_home
All 3 of them were installable.
My friend had a similar issue, he wanted to update a game through the Game Configuration screen.
All downloaded, exited to XMB, but no packages at all.
And in his case, even with an USB drive the packages won't show up.
Any ideas? Could it be mM or Rebug related?
Thanks
You can also use scetool or aldo's tools to sign the ELF.
Doesn't seem I did it right, but that's what I'd done ) Except for I didn't have "make_self_wc" (with compression) and used "make_self" from "DeanK EBOOTFix with 3.60 Keys" - still black screen when loading directly from mM. Anyways thanks a lot for help. I don't think further testing is worth it.
BTW, minor feature that I've come across: when I enable "XMMB Game Icon Swap", game icons are displayed with no transparency. Actually covers may be displayed with no transparency too (if the option is disabled) - but they are rectangular and that's not so evident ))

@tyanve: You can use both modes. "Standard" is what most people know before 4.30CFWs appeared.
@Portnyashka: Yes, the ICON0.PNG in this mode is displayed with no transparency.

About the DVD Region Locked movie discs:
Well, anyway... I added some stuff to multiMAN. You can update online (use L2+R2 while starting multiMAN to get in "Debug" mode and then update).
1) Start the PS3
2) Start multiMAN
3) Make sure that "HERMES" option is selected in Settings -> "BD-ROM Emulator" (if not - select it and restart the PS3)
4) Load the DVD Video disc (if all is ok it will be ejected and re-inserted)
5) Go to the "Video" column and start it
6) If mM detects a Region Lock you will see some prompts on screen
7) Try to play the disc from the PS3's Video column
You can additionally select BD/DVD Movie Region option in Settings to match your DVD movie region.
Also in this version I fixed the AVCHD/DVD/BD HDD backups duplicates which appeared in the Video column.
