I hope so too - and I hope that it doesn't turn out to be a mindfuck like the original Xbox still is in terms of console emulation.

Anyway, I'm going to use DeanK's multiMAN app on it now in the hope that my PC turns into a four-figure time-ticking bomb MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just in case anyone is thinking it - I've said it before and I'll say it again. Don't expect PC's to run a PS3 game through emulation at a reasonable speed for anther 5 years at minimum. PCSX2 (PS2 emulation specifically) STILL requires a nice gaming rig. And I'm not talking about a low budget one either. I'm taking high end that can max any PC game you throw at it at 1080P with decent AA+AF, maxed.

And that's not even counting games like ZOE2 the second runner. Which even with my rig still runs like shit. That game runs the best on Intel I7's and above. PS3 games are double to quadruple the amount of EVERYTHING you see on the PS2. So if modern PC tech still has trouble emulating a PS2 game perfectly - how do you think it's gonna fair with a PS3 game? Shit to be it nicely.

People need to realize that just because a PC can run the exact same game + extras if it's a multiplat game doesn't mean it can also chew the game up if it's emulated. Emulation is COMPLETELY different then running something in native code on the specific platform. As your not only having to interface to the PC's API, but your also creating a "virtual PS3" on the machine. Similar to a PC virtual machine but honestly a lot more involved.

Most games run pretty well but you still need a beffy fucking PC for emulation. Unless you go bulldozer, etc. Those in all honestly are PERFECT processors for emulation. The best the PC has to offer for that task. But games like ZOE 2: unless you have a nice GPU + core i7 pr above, I sincerely doubt you can emulate that game properly.

Plus you have to consider what playable means for you compared to someone else. Playable to you could be 30 frames with MAYBE a few dips here and there with reasonable sound quality. Were has playable/perfect for someone else is complete emulation @ 60 FPS, perfect sound that sounds like it's straight from the PS2 itself, etc.

    Ooooh I haven't tried ZOE2 yet..
Literally everything else I've tried runs with maxed out setting at 60 fps.
Apart from rpgs that's games like Budokai tenkaichi 3 and bloody roar 4.
Will definitely try ZOE2 tonight though.. it was crappy on my HTPC but I've just built a low/mid gaming rig so will be interesting.
But yeah in 5-7 yrs with dodecacores or whatever cpus are at then, we should be set

EDIT: Just tried ZOE2, it runs pretty damn well on my PC with all settings maxed, its a bit glitchy and dippy in spots but I think thats more to do with the emu rather than my hardware. In some pretty intense and screen filled fights and it was perfect and then out of nowhere with a quiet patch it would dip or glitch.
Some cutscenes were badly glitched but Ive always hated the story/acting of it anyway so no bother to me

Trust me it get's a lot worse. Around 3/4 of the way through the game there's upwards of 400 full mechs on screen. And no I'm not talking about the little flying "flies." I'm talking about raptors, mummies, etc. You probably only played the first two or three levels max right? Ya, get through half way through the game and your FPS will go to shit. Plus it will go to shit in the major boss fights.

I am interested in your rig. Yours maybe stronger then mine, but I sincerely doubt you can get through even the first 1/4th of the game past the first two or so levels without major dips.

Could you use this to test modified flash files, like a .rco before you ftp it to your PS3?

Also, I didn't see anywhere what the minimum requirements were to install this.
