    [RUMOUR] - Auch!! 129 dolars for 3K3Y!!

Due to the fact that the thread for 3K3Y is closed, hereīs the rumoured price for this gadget:

129 dolars! (plus shipping, i imagine)! Donīt you think is very expensive? I think under 100$ is a more fair price, but we will see...

This was posted by a member of 3K3Y Team on Propjoe website. Hereīs link: http://ps3repack.com/board/showthrea...or-ps3!!/page3

3k3y for Xmas! SRP (Suggested Retail Price): USD129
3k3y is the perfect solution for PS3 USB loading and gaming.
With 3k3y gamers can rip and play their games from any USB media.

Let's start by recapping some of the most important features:
    - Works with both Fat and Slim models (there will be one 3k3y version for each model)
    - Plug n play installation, no soldering required
    - Integrated game ripper
    - Works with full ISO releases
    - Works with any official firmware, CFW is not required for operation

3k3y uses very much the same code and components (sans the SATA chip) as Xk3y.
This means we already have a rock solid, well tested system and stock of all major components and are ready to go into production as soon as the shrunken-down hardware has been verified. The tricky software parts, drive emulation and authentication, are already fully working. With components and software in place there's very little to derail a pre-Xmas launch.

Did they find a way to extract the drive key without CFW? In any case, good luck with pricing like that.

I'm not surprised - that would roughly be Ģ80 (GBP - Pounds Sterling) then - for those who expected to pay less for that...

Problem is that, in Europe, the conversion is direct 129 dolars = 129 euros, even if the dolar is less value then euro (129$ = 95/100 euros +/-)

    A 2nd hand PS3 is +/- 170 euros

    129 dolars/euros is... in a word: expensive.

I'm not surprised. It seems like a complicated piece of hardware.

Where is the "GIVE us your monies now button" on the website?

Hope they plan to release an updated version that supports both slim/phat.

Thanks for the tip/rumour and i never knew about that site so registered ;-) TIA.

Makes sense. Emulating a PS3 Bluray drive must be way harder than a xbox.. And the xbox ODDE's are like $100
