PS3 Bricked after Rogero CFW 4.21

Hi all.

So today when the Rogero CFW 4.21 was released i update my PS3 with it. But it bricked my console.
Before the update i was on the latest Rogero Cex 3.55 CFW. My PS3 retail FW is 3.50 and once i try to downgrade to 3.41 without success. I've downgraded once from that 3.56 Spanish JFW.

What can i do now ?
Please help.

For anyone who have bricked with Green Light and Black Screen, you can try entering Factory Service Mode using a PSGrade Dongle (any old jailbreak dongle flashed with the PSGrade hex file)

Insert the dongle then start the ps3 with (Power then Eject) and if the PS3 shuts off by itself after few seconds which means it entered FSM (Factory Service Mode) you can try inserting a USB stick with the proper "LV2diag.self" + 3.55downgrader.PUP used in the first days of downgrading, if things went right, this could fix the Brick... it worth testing...

Please if anyone bricked and can test this method post back the result...

a guide on how to do this

On the computer
1. put lv2diag.self file 1 and rogero's special downgrade CFW on USB pen

On the PS3
2. Switch off ps3 from power cord
3. Put the USB Dongle with service mode payload in the right usb port ( E3 reader, PS3Key or what ever )
4. Put power cord in the console
5. Press power button followed quickly with eject button, the console should boot, and then reboot. (if the beeps continue it's normal)
6. Remove service dongle
7. Put the USB Pen with the 2 files inside in the right usb port
8. Power on the PS3. If all went well you shall see the ps3 reading stuff in the usb pen, and the hard drive of ps3 working, wait for the console to power off.
9. Remove the USB PEN (you will have an UPDATER_LOG.TXT in the Pen with the details)
10. Power on the PS3
11. At this point you can check if the console boot up and its inside factory mode (red square box in the bottom left of the screen)
12. Power off the PS3


On the computer
13. All you need now is to get out of Factory Mode, so put lv2diag.self file 2 in a FAT32 blank USB Pen


On the PS3
14. Put the USB Pen in the right port with the file already on it
15. Power on (the console will power off automatically)
16. Power again and should be ok

Also, tips on installing the new cfw

Dehash! - even if you never downgraded before. I am going to admit that dehashing still confuses the shit out of me. google Dehashing ps3, but i will show you how I dehash mine.

1 Install Toggle-QA
2 run it, the screen should go back, hear some beeps and come back on. make sure it QAed by going to settings, then highlight Network section and press button combo (L1 + L2 + L3 + R1 + R2 + D-Pad Down) extra menus should pop up. if not try again.
3 turn off the ps3.
4 go and put offical 3.55 ofw on your usb pen/drive, in the regular place, (PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP)
4 enter recover menu ( How to Enter Recovery Mode )
5 Choose option 6 (update to official firmware 3.55 )

(I have been told that you can update to kmeaw as well. not sure on it tho. )

now that you have dehashed install the 4.21 CFW, Rogero says it is safer to install in recovery than by xmb. so put the firmware on your usb pen/drive and go back to recovery mode and install it from there. hopefully that should help.

Yea its a same also as Rogero CFW 3.7 or any other Rogero 3.xx CFW
Also you can build your own no check CFW using MFW Builder and apply patch Lv1 hash check patches to your source FW.

but you would want to do that with 3.55 ofw or kmeaw. don't try it with 4.21 cfw or anything. Sorry just stating the obvious because there is always that one guy.

I have a bricked CECH 2504B, i had CFW Rogero 3.55 v3.7 installed, installed OFW 3.55 From Recovery Menu, installed Rogero 4.21 from Recovery Menu, instalation ended and i got a black screen. Cant go back to Recovery Menu and my PS3 never been downgraded. I was thinking of trying that FSM option to try to recover from the brick but i actually dont have no power on the USB ports. So its a no go right? My only option is a hardware flasher correct? (i havent got a dump of my NOR, can i use someone elses dump?)
