help with dex to cex brick

these are the steps i am taking

i pull the power cord plug on the slim ps3 and then plug it back in

i put the fsm dongle in the right usb port

i switch it on and quickly press the eject button it beeps twice

then the lights change on the dongle to say payload sent and it beeps like 5-6 times and switches off to standby

i take out the FSM dongle and put in the USB with the lvl2diag.self and offical 3.55 firmware

i switch on the ps3 the ps3 hdd light flashes and it beeps again for 5-6 times and then goes back into standby

what am i doing wrong am i using the wrong firmware or what

i have tried kmaew the offical 3.55, rogero 3.6, and rogero 3.4 none work for me so far




i did these steps to fix it

these steps exactly

1. pull the plug on the console
2. put the FSM dongle in
3. put the plug back into the console
4. switch it on and then press eject
5. let it beep over and over and switch back off.
6. put the usb into the slot
7. switched it on
8. it booted up black screen (no beeps this time unlike the video).
9. Hdd flashed for around 3 minutes
10. ps3 switched off
11. switched ps3 back on without any USB
12. saw i was in service mode
13. switched ps3 off
14. used the lvl2diag.self put it on the USB no other files
15. switched the ps3 on to get out of FSM it switched off itself
16. removed usb and booted up ps3 and it was restored.

what i had to do was find the correct psgrade file for my board as they are badly labled not the board they go with but the firmware they work with same with the lvl2diag.self files its easy to find ones for pre 3.55 firmware but hard for 3.55 firmware

Make sure you are using the right self and also with the upate just put the PS3UPDAT.PUP dont put the folders,on the root of the USB,so you it should look like this:

yeah i know that but does the firmware i use matter etc as when it comes to the stage of usb it does not work

Fat or Slim PS3 and also does it just stay at a black screen for a little bit then shut down.

its a slim ps3

its just black screen

it beeps like 5-6 times every time when you switch it on dongle or no dongle it even beeps when the usb is plugged in


i just tried it with rogero 3.4 firmware still no luck

What dongle are you using to put in FSM ?

You have the switches switched back to normal on the Blackcat usb , just making suggestions as this is how I had to do mine.

yep put them both back in to down position

i think its something to do with not reading the usb correctly with the files on it maybe a power issue or something as i do not see the light coming on on the usb but it comes on the black cat so ????

When you put the regular usb in do you put it in the right most USB port and also try turning the PS3 the same way you do when trying to put in FSM power then hit reset.
