We all know how wonderful the REBUG firmwares have been from the Codename: REBUG team, which allows PS3 Jailbreakable users to access some of the Debug features on their Retail PS3 Consoles!
But their current releases are not 100%, the CoreOS is still CEX, well here at PS3Crunch we have been in touch with the team recently, discussing what their future plans are, and today CyberSkunk send us a short video showing the next evolution in their custom firmware releases!
In this video you can see the PS3 first booting and then BEEPING.
* This is normal, if someone installs an full official DEBUG PUP via Service Mode on a Retail Console.
Next you see Cyber booting on his PS3 using a USB Jailbreak Dongle!
* This time the PS3 boots-up and is a fully 100% DEBUG firmware, no crashing or beeping, loads right into the XMB!
This is all possible by the Codename: REBUG team developing their own "custom payload" loaded for usage on the old v3.41 Jailbreak dongles!

We can however boot it without the dongle but before everyone gets excited being able to boot the DEX COREOS and getting all of its functions up and running without rehashing (converting) your console are two completely different problems.
Cheers Mate..
As you can see from the note they send us, it is still in the testing stage, but our valued Crunching members will be the first to know when they are ready to release it! -- And for all those out there that claimed this would be impossible! -- A big F-U!
Always stay tuned to PS3Crunch for the very latest in Earth-Crunching-News!
was not expecting that video XD was expecting another :P
anyway big ups team rebug
i know that this doesn't need to be here, cause noobs here are like NONE but i ll post it anyway.

with that said we have lately been having rebug firmware running a complete retail firmware modified in order to have access to debug menu.
Rebug has now accomplished the use of debug firmwares in this case 3.41 to boot on retail machines, using a modified payload
about running 3.70 games--> NO
about a new custom firmware higher than 3.55 ---> NO
About running dex firmwares higher than 3.56+ on retail machines not possible the pup had to be modified, if you would install it wouldn't boot with the machine crazy beeping and no image.
well this might be bypassed using an hardware flasher, but it is yet to see
to answer butnut you can qa flag a debug machine as far as i know...
yes we wouldn't need a custom firmware if we had debug firmwares, but you wouldn't run backups either :P
