    Dishonored resets to XMB

    Hey all,

So I recently went from 3.55 CFW to 4.25 CFW. Updated my Multiman to the latest and all my previous games are working fine. So I decided to get my hands on a release of Dishonored.

The first copy I got was the Dishonored USA PS3-CLANDESTiNE release. I tried to run it but when I loaded it in Multiman then tried to start the game from the XMB of the console it went black like it was about to start the game then it just reset back to the XMB. I then figured that the CLANDESTiNE release was a bad rip, so I assumed that's why the game wouldn't start.

I then got my hands on the iNSOMNi release and done all the audio fixes so I could play the game in English. I then went to Multiman, loaded the game, then tried to start the game from the XMB like before and the EXACT thing happened. It went black like it was about to start (I could even hear my external HD loading) and then nothing; it just went back to my PS3 XMB, no error or anything.

Am I missing something? All my previous games work fine...

    Cheers

P.S I also tried updating Dishonored to v1.01 but nope, same deal.

The insomni release should work as long as you add in/replace the right files. Did you delete the game data before trying the game?

Also, the Clandestine release is a bad rip and should be nuked. Currently, the best scene release for dishonored is the duplex release that came out last night. Just download and play with 4.21CFW, and it will work.

I know the Clandestine is a bad rip, but I tried the iNSOMNi and I'm getting the same result. I read on a few forums that even though the Clandestine is a bad rip they are still atleast able to get upto the install stage where it crashes on 30 something %.. I couldn't even get to that point. Which makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

I don't know if this is too late for you, but here goes. I assume you have RogerO's 4.21 cfw. First delete your game data and any game update you installed. Use the iNSOMNi release. Go here:
    http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=44908&page=2
If you need the original iNSOMNi eboot and Param.sfo then go on the first page; there's a link. Now then, follow the big post with the instructions on page 2. Make sure you set the language to INT (international?) and NOT ITA (italian) as one of the posters seems to have done. If you're still on 4.21 cfw, just don't add the duplex patch. That's only for cfw 3.55 and I think 3.41.

This should make it work fine. If by some chance you're back to 3.55, just google "dishonorned 3.55 duplex patch" and you should find it. Alternatively you can go to ps3scenefiles.com and get it there. The link to that guy's post on the 2nd page is actually the eboot fix to risen 2 dark waters. I can confirm Dishonored working on my 3.55 kmeaw with no problems and there are plenty of confirmations for 4.21 cfw.

Public Service Announcement: To anyone on True Blue fw (I've seen quite a few over at ps3iso) please get rid of this for at least 3.55 kmeaw since there seems to be some game compatibility issues and you are only gimping yourself continuing to have this sorry excuse of a fw. 3.55 can still go online (tested via ****PSN 1.0), play all homebrew, most PSN games and doesn't require a dongle to be plugged in.

Anyway hope this helps and good luck to you either way.
