Coming into this thread and then attacking me over a post I've previously made by relating it to this one without knowing things have changed was your mistake. Saying what I quoted above is why I replied the way I did. You keep taking what I say and twisting it into something I never said so who's the one with problems with their head?
think you have a few screws loose if you think I'm the 'Grand Dictator' in this scene
I never said nor implied you're some Grand Dictator - you don't have what it takes. What do have is the gull to come slander me over things I never said. I simply replied to the original post you made in which you were not only slandering me, but also being dictating to myself and apparently the "entire scene". Just because you can code something gives you no right to go around treating people like you do. I don't take well to blatant rudeness, name calling and also people claiming I said things I have not. I don't care what you've coded or the fact it was open source and free - you're still being an upstanding jerk.
Also, I didn't port that N64 emulator. I simply beta tested and made the video. I however did run a console scene news site for many years and it was a "top dog" until it died. However, that also doesn't give me the right to act the jerk which I haven't until defending myself from you. Since what you type is more nonsense and made up crap I think at this point in time adding you to the ignore list will be the only solution to not have to read your mindless ramblings.

As if anybody gives a flying f that you change your entire convictions and opinions over the timespan of three days. Some nobody dude with some spunky attitude nobody gives a flying donkey's ass about.
At least I stick by a conviction I believe in from day one and stick by it. You don't go to a store and go 'tourist shopping' for convictions and opinions - you either know what you're looking for or you fucking don't.

Yet you seem to have no problem with it when it's the blowhard 'elite' (I'm sorry - the couple of guys that could never hack it in any other scene - they get laughed at at Phoronix for claiming they made a GL 3.1-compatible RSX GL driver among other things) that treat you like a fucking idiot, make fun behind your back, lie about progress, hoard exploits, engage in money scams and spit in your face. So why should it fucking matter if I'm being an 'upstanding jerk' to you now for a change? Any kind of 'punishment' you receive from sycophants you seem to enjoy and it makes you want them even more.
I'm a jerk to people who are asking for it - that includes you and your blowhard comments about 'piracy' and the 'devs' being 'righteous angels' and all that horseshit and how the users were 'self-entitled parasites' (meanwhile you're the biggest self-entitled scum around it seems). Enough is fucking enough - these people have been pathetic bitches and have kept this scene stagnant for over two years, and here comes some idiot like you defending their ass. Fuck that shit - that's not how this shit is going to go down.
Kindly take your 'oh so substantive erudite comments' and blow them out your ass. They're about worth as much as that ''wallpaper' you decorated that N64 emu port with.
I would delete this stuff but twin always make me laugh, so i'll wait

I never stated there was no good homebrew for the PS3 - your emulator compilation is top notch, Showtime is great and mM is groovy. So while there might be a few good homebrew out there when you contrast that to any other homebrew abundant scene you'll see a great deficiency in the amount of homebrew for the PS3 - Instead everyone wants backups to work (which I do not have a problem with - if they are going to pirate there is nothing I could say, think or do to stop it - that's if I cared if JonnyQ pirated).
Things have changed and that includes my reasoning for your so called "360". Am I not allowed to change my mind due to external factors?I would still like to have my games on a medium other then BD, due to my previously mentioned reason of the drive is dying; however with Sony's cheap $75 fix (which I recently found when I called them) I don't see any reason to compromise my system with CFW which would require purchasing hardware and downgrading and either losing functionality via CFW or voiding my warranty via the ODD. I've got 6 games and some DLC so since it's so cheap to fix I see no reason to waste money on the per-mentioned solutions.
You also want to control the actions of others and seem to want to dictate to me on things when you don't know me which is apparent with your lack of knowledge of why I did your mentioned "360". However, as I am a fan of all scenes I would still like to see the PS3 blasted wide open including CFW that can be signed to install on any OFW. I just don't want it for me personally, but to jump-start this stagnant scene where judgmental arrogant self-righteous people like yourself like to attack others and this time my friend you're wrong. Maybe if the 99% start to migrate to CFW then you can go back to coding and stop dictating to others.
I feel sorry for you.
I understand you changed your mind due to finding a cheap solution to your specific needs. But for others your solution might not be very cheap or what they want. Before you supported piracy because your bd drive was failing, and now it looked like you changed position because you could get it fixed. What's more you made a broad statement attacking all pirates saying they were the ones that caused all of the problems this scene has faced when really it was only a small, but very vocal minority that included the very devs that were supposedly chased off by piracy. And did you forget you yourself was a pirate at least until a few days ago that is? You might not have meant to, but that is what it looked like.
And I understand Twinaphex too. People seem very eager to kiss these elitist asses. And many of these people have been ready at the snap of a finger to attack the ones actually furthering the scene. They robbed people blind, just by mentioning keys or cfw. They took people's money and attention with no intention to give back. And then mocked people for it. They didn't leave because of piracy, they are the biggest pirates of all. Worse yet they're scammers of the worst kind. People bitched about TB charging, but at least they gave you something you could use. They didn't ask for donations and then say "screw it, drama leaving". These guys made up the worst excuses to leave, some guy made fun of them. Some dude complained about them, they took our money and ran. And the ones defending that do need to shut the F**k up.
I may as well throw my bit into this mud wrestling ring.. no wall from me, just numbered points
1) Piracy, do what you want.. its your life
2) Its impossible to do any hack without piracy being a by-product.. even Kaks failed HEN would have allowed it
3) IN MY EYES Its the most boring part of hacking a console, hack to me means making something behave in a way it wasnt designed to.. My PS3 played retail games before geohot came along
4) I believe the focus should be on end-user code because that FOR ME is where the excitement is.
5) I do tend to believe that whoever does the work has the choice whether they release or not.. their morals are theirs and its not really anyones right to question them..
I dont believe they should lord it over people and push their moral agenda as being superior though.. especially if they think their moral stance applies to the sheep whilst they do what they want
Feel feel to go all Johnny Storm on my ass "Flame on!"

Very well said, especially the morals part. If you do something/don't do something and then say it's for moral reasons, that is fine and acceptable, however don't break your own moral code and then chastise others for not living up to those morals that you don't really believe in yourself.
If you don't want to release something because of fear, then just say so. You're well within your rights. Whether it be because you're afraid that it will get patched or afraid that you'll get sued or thrown in jail, doesn't matter. However to shove this moral bullshit down people's throats while loading up a backup copy of AC3 is not only hypocritical, it's down-right disgusting and sickening.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander. The more people involved, the more people in the know, the more people sharing, the easier it is to hide from and defeat the devil (aka $ony). This is the one thing the powers that be in this scene don't seem to understand.
I'd settle for people who can, work on finding the appropriate keys to sign the new CFW PUP files so the rest of the population can do what all the 3.55 people can without hardware flashers.

Well, you've must of misunderstood my post. I'm not against piracy be it done by entitled kids or a scener and if people are going to pirate via downloading a MP3, a ROM or a PS3 ISO then there's not anything I could say or do to stop them anyway. When I talked about the "entitled kids" in the scene I in no way mentioned that they were the majority nor where they "the scene" or "100% of the end users". Granted they are a large group, but I was only referring to what KaKaRoTo said in his interview/debate. I was agreeing with him that these "entitled kids" have turned away or chased off developers. Of course that is not the case 100% of the time, but it has happened. My comments have seem to been taken out of context. I did specifically state I was talking about what KaKaRoTo said, did I not? I didn't mean to imply that every scener has chased off developers because that is not the case. Sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say.
