Max Payne 3 keeps booting me back to the dash. Keep in mind that I just got the PS3 today and it's been over a year since I played with it. I am on Rogero 4.30 with MM 4.09.00.
BLES00942 Internal HDD. Applied the 1.06 Update, still no go, keeps booting me back to the XMB.
AC3 loads the warning but then boots me back to XMB. 1.01 update applied.
Edit: NM about AC3, I'm just being a n00b!! lol Been away far too long.....
EDIT2: I really am an idiot. Got Max Payne 3 working as well. Sorry for buggin ya guys!! I promise I'll try to keep my mouth shut, read first and asking questions later....
Well at least tell us the idiotic thing you did, so we dont do it

Haha, wasn't so much what I did, it's more what I didn't do. I'm used to the good old days when you just copy a game over and load it up. Now we have all of these options to check off, I don't know what any of them mean or really do. What I was doing was just trying to load the game. Once I realized that I could check off the little circles in game settings, I checked off "internal" and it worked.
Max payne gave me another error after it, but in another n00b move, when I saw it was loading, I deleted it off my computer. I then noticed that in my ftp client, there was one file that error'd out during the transfer. Never really gave it 2 thoughts until the game was almost all the way installed and then it error'd out. So now I have to download it again.
I will say, once I get it all figured out, that a direct comparison of AC3, it looks much better on the PS3. I'm so glad to be back in this scene and if I can ever get caught up with all the changes maybe I can start helping out again...
I also want to get NHL 13 working, but can't for the life of me, figure it out. After I figure it out, I have to try getting a free online pass somehow so I can play with some of my buds with legit ps3's.
At any rate, I'm off to bed, it's getting late and kids get up for school in about 4 hours.....though I did take the day off to do some more experimenting.

Yeah, (dean can explain this better than I, but his answer will be more technical so maybe its better if i try hahaha) Basically yeah if its on internal ps3 drive pick internal, external drive pick external. BD-MIRROR is to trick ps3 by mounting game to root like its a bluray, but you wont use this much and shoudnt (like dean said) unless game wont work, rip is fine and it black screens (some COD games need this), directboot just as it says doesnt exit back to XMB just forces it to boot (again dont need this much either, less than bd-mirror even and shouldnt use it unless nothing else is working)
Discless means you can play game from app_home in XMB without need for ps3 disc in drive. hope this helps a little. If you want to know more technical stuff im sure Dean will be happy to tell you.
Tell me what the deal is with NHL 13 as I can prolly help as ive gotten NHL 11 and 12 working on dex made update patches for them for cex etc just havent messed with 13 yet.

NHL13. I load it in mm, go to the xmb and load it from the xmb. It either black screens or kicks me back to the xmb.
I should also mention that the bluray drive acts weird in this. More often than not, it doesn't show up. I've booted the console multiple times and figured the bluray drive is screwed, but one time it booted up and showed the game in the disc drive. I think I'm going to take it apart and clean it out. It almost sounds like it's not aligned properly as it does make some weird noises on boot.
