burning my PSx backups to disc.

alrighty, so I found CDs to burn my games too (yay), now, is there any special process for doing this (to make it work in multiman)

some are in the standard .iso, others are in .bin/.cue and I have a few in the .ccd/.img with the .sub, are there different ways to burn each file type or not really?

I just want to double check before I start using up my limited quantity of CDs (to which I only have 5 so I'd prefer to not turn any into coasters if possible)

I'm not quite sure about burning the different filetypes but take into consideration that the ps3 is capable of reading RW CDs, so if you get one of those it should save you a lot of discs.

I have a related question. How much wear and tear would such discs give the PS3 drive? I'm super paranoid about using the drive as less as possible (this paranoia makes me wish discless support was perfect). Consider that I have Sony branded DVD-Rs. Am I good to go burning PS1 games onto this?

    1) Use CD-R discs (you can't use DVD+/-R for PS1 games
    2) Use low recording speed (I used to use ImgBurn for burning)
    3) Preferably rip your PS1 discs yourself into BIN+CUE or another pair-file format to preserve subchannel and audio-track information

Currently PS1 backups don't work on the released 4.21/4.30CFWs because these firmwares don't allow access to LV1 memory (which mM requires to enable disc access to data/non-genuine discs).

Personally, I've never had a bad burn using CloneCD 4.2.0.2 with PS1 games. I've also been able to get away with max speed using that program with mid-grade to high quality media. Food for thought on that.
