Using Updates to replace 3.55 Eboot Fixes

    Hi,

Just had a question before I go ahead and update to Roger 4.30 CFW. If I upgrade to the new CFW, my understanding is any games I have using a 3.55 fixed eboot will no longer work correct? If I simply use PS3 Game Updater or something to download and install all the newest updates for my games, that should automatically replace the old eboots and these games should work on the new CFW?

    Thanks,

I don't think all game updates include replacements to the eboot... in fact, I think most don't... but I could be way off on this.

So far all my 3.55 games are working with the Rogero 4.30 cfw. I even updated some of them like metal gear solid hd collection because peace walker didn't work before, now it does. All my psn games are still working too.

I haven't played my PS3 in a year. Just noticed there was a 4.30 CFW (FINALLY!) So I'll try updating my CFW tonight. Lots of new stuff I don't know about like CEX vs DEX??? Hopefully I don't brick it.

Sounds like 3.55 CFW games should keep playing, but I'm guessing True Blue games will need reverted to their original files.

They will still work. I had installed the new CFW and tried almost all of my fixed games and every one that I tried had absolutely no issues playing.
