PS3 is wanting to update!!!

So lately when I start a game it gives me a message that says,

to use this software you must update the system software.
the system, will quit and start a system software update.
OK


Well, I can hit the O button and get to play the game, I am just worried about someone else in home updating because it does give a cancel. just ok option.

i thought it was because the param.sfo was not fixed, or multiman didn't fix it. but it is set to 3.55, just to make sure I edited it to 3.4 and I still get this problem....anyone else have this or get this problem fixed?

seems to only happen with the newer eboot fixes. dishonored - xcom - ride racer unbound - resident evil. I am on kmeaw by the way, i didn't want to update until Rebug released their version. but it looks like I am going to have to.

rebuild database from recovery and the error will be fixed

I get the same on 3.55 KMEAW. I wonder where it's picking it up from if the eboot and param.sfo have been fixed?

I have only noticed it when I am connected to the internet, so that may be to do with it?

This started happening to me yesterday too, just as my Sister decides she wants to start playing FIFA :/. I can only guess that Sony have changed something from their end regarding game updates? :S

I'm on 4.21 Rogero.

yeah, thanks guys, glad it is not just me. its scary maybe we should just go ahead and update to rogero 4.30. but since the new one is 4.31 I wonder if it will still ask.

It's been a long time, so I could be wrong, but I don't believe optional updates pester you to update....

yeah game update notifications are forced now, lol i thought you meant the game was asking you to update your ps3 and thats a sfo error if you want to edit the.sfo you will have to install it as a pkg you cant just.edit the.sfo n ftp it over

No, the thing we're talking about is a definite call for updating the system software. Not game updates. For me it has only happened on FIFA 13, so maybe it's a newer game thing?

yes, it only calls up the warning on the newer eboots fixes. old ones work fine still.
