I went to 4.21 DEX as I have a 3rd party controller that wont work properly for one game, just to test. Anyway, I hadnt used Rebug DEX much yet, I noticed Rebug 421 DEX lets you do things you normally cant do on official 421 DEX.
1) You can access internal hard drive & play games off it
2) You can play off external without LAN connection
3) Games didn't need resigned to fself

Is this ALL because you have LV1 Peek/Poke Support on REBUG 421 DEX & official there isn't? Just wondering if REBUG DEX has ALL CEX support AND DEX support, because before on official DEX it didnt do certain things CEX could, but if REBUG DEX only adds DEX and doesn't take away some CEX options I might just stay on it, plus spoofing IDPS/EID5 to get on PSN (which i dont really use PSN on CEX even).

Also, my original problem if you know of any DEX option (or any other method) to fully enable 3rd party controllers that would be awesome.

Apart from BD movie support almost ALL CEX function will work on DEX.

Yes.. This is because we took the time to not only patch LV1 but other COREOS files to (the same patches that allow homebrew to run on CEX apply to DEX).

As far as 3rd Party Controllers.. I dont have any so I can not answer that one for you..

i used the pakage for qa flag ( not rebug toolbox ) and update to this wonderfull custom (4.21 ) ,
now " toggle qa flag option ' in rebug toolbox is " not available "
i switched " xmb operation mode " to " retail " and try "L1, L2, R1, R2, L3 &down" above network settings , and it work (edy viewer,etc.. appear
so is qa flag enabled this way , can i install 3.55.3 from xmb without the downgrad cusom 9.99

Yesterday I wanted to downgrade in order to switch to 4.30 Rogero v2.00 but with no success.
I've tried the downgrader PUP, 999 downgrader and also the official 3.55 firmware both from XMB and recovery mode.
Either my console shows that the data is corrupted or that no applicable update data was found.
For my console QA doesn't seem to be enabled anymore.
(I probably ran toggle_qa.pkg too many times when messing with dex / cex conversions, down and upgrades).
But isn't the 999 downgrader supposed to work even if QA is not enabled? :-(
When upgrading to 4.21.1 REX I wasn't aware that QA couldn't be enabled from there.
In recovery mode my PS3 asks for at least 2.70 update data.

I have a slim PS3. Firmware history: 3.55 kmeaw -> 3.55 cobra usb -> 4.21 DEX -> 4.21 Rogero -> 4.21.1 REX.
I still have my Cobra USB dongle. Can I somehow use that in order to downgrade (from factory mode)?

Am I stuck on 4.21.1 REX or can someone perhaps help me?

According to Rebug toolbox information it is running in CEX mode. target ID is DEX.
However I am getting debug infos when in XMB all the time. Thought that was normal ...!?

Change TargetID to CEX <= VERY IMPORTANT

Toolbox > DEX/CEX > Rewrite TargetID in Flash

Then try REX 3.55.3 from XMB.

If this does not work use the 999 Downgrader..
