HAHAHAHAHA! I laughed my ass off at that one. No console in existence has achieved that and I doubt the PS4/720 will be the first. Sorry... Media/rumor hype. The industry loves pulling shit like this because they are trying their damdnest to completely erase PC gaming because of the sheer amount of control a PC has. So they figure if they trump up a console people will go for console that has "high end PC gaming capabilities" because it's easier for the uneducated and easier for the industry. Or rather more strategic for their plans of leasing/renting everything from consoles to games to us. So of course they are gonna say "this box is just as powerful as a high end gaming PC." - Bullshit.
As long as consoles are closed platforms they will never rival a PC.
Plus as I said on a previous rumor post these "spec rumors" are ridiculous. PC games aren't even maxing the hardware that is being put out for them. I'm up to (well I will be in two weeks when my mobo comes back) an 8 core 3.2 GHZ processor which will be OC'd @ 4.8, 8GB of ram, potential for QUAD SLI/QUAD Crossfire (yes I can use either or on this mobo) etc. And even PC games don't take advantage of nearly half of that. PC games are still far from utilizing more then 4 core's IIRC efficiently. So if PC games designed for PC first and console second (BF3 for example with FULL DX11) aren't even maxing the hardware on the market - why on earth would Sony/MS throw something out there that is "equivalent to high end PC gaming?" It makes no sense. For a number of reasons. Plus with the fact that consoles program direct to metal - consoles don't need 4 - 8GB of ram, etc, etc. So until the PS4/720 are officially unveiled including official specs, I'm not even going to bother with these rumors. As they are soo far fetched it's not even funny.
Sorry to say but even PC graphics haven't advanced far enough to warrant a console with the specs these rumor posts keep coming up with. And we all know consoles are always a good 4 - 8 years behind PC tech. So there's no way in hell those specs are even reasonable.
EDIT: As for the other points in the "rumor post" I'm not even going to address them because I'll end up getting banned by the time my rant is over.

The only way I see this done is to downloa god knows how many gigs of a completely remade versiion of the game you're playing that will only run when the original classic game is booted.
All said and done, I will not be bying the ps4. Besides, I barely play the ps3 I have now.
