games randomly stop loading

Hi am i am at a lose here.
had my ps3 up and tunning with cfw for a while now and never had a problem. i am running a ps3 slim with a 3tg western digital usb harddrive running through a usb hub connected to ps3
i updated to rogero 4.30 and everything seemed fine.
then upgraded to to i think it was 4.30 v1.02 and dishonoured which had worked fine with its update installed suddenly stopped working. if i uninstalled the update for the game then it loaded fin but could not use previous save games which sucked. but could live with that if i put the 1.01 game update on then would not load but this had been working on rogero 4.30.
then couple of days latter some other games stopped working ff x-2 enchanted arms and eternal sonnata and a couple of others. they would start to load then freeze at black screen and would have to power off and on.
starange thing was if i tried to load it several times then suddenly it would load again and they all started working again.
so i decided to to remove all the games from my usb hard drive and redid the partition and reformated it and put every thing back on.
i rebuilt the database completly redid the eternal hard drive as well
and seemed things were fine again
so i updated to latest rogero firmware 4.20 v2.03 and updated to latest multiman v4.14.03 and again had same problem but if i loaded a different game then went back to try the first one agian then that woudl start fine.
today i couldn't get any games to load tried around half dozen and all started to load would come up asking for updates as i had deleted all the saved game data just to be sure then some would go back to xmb or would freeze on black screen.
finally got another to load wwe 13 and then again the other games now starting working again.
first tried eternal sonata as easiest to tell if frozen as the game starts to load comes up the white screen on which Bandai will show up on white background. if it freezes screen goes white and stays white logo doesn't come up.
so got wwe 13 to load and bam sonata worked.
staretd ff x-2 and now worked as well

Does anyone have any ideas what coul be causing this? as i am not sure if it could be rogero, multiman my external hard drive or the ps3 internal drive.

i think your external drive is too large for the ps3...its not your games or your firmware. Its spotty because your using a drive on a usb 2 connection that normally needs a usb3... Its failing to load games from time to time because of lag issues... Check this by moving a few games to the internal drive and see if the problem goes away, also unplug the external drive when checking... You will have to use a harddrive less than 2 tb or split the 3 tb drive.. You will only be able to use the master drive though if you split it.

some of my games stopped working as well
i noticed that select -x doesnt work anymore with multiman you have to go into game settings and manually check off bd-mirror
its a one time set up after that it saves it for you
not sure if that is your issue or not but i noticed that it was for me and the games started working after that

I use a 3TB external no problem (with 1 fat32 partition). Should be fine unless this some Rogero CFW issue as I use Rebug fine (and Kmeaw and OFW Dex with 3TB).

hmmm....mine wouldnt read the whole 3tb and it was a western digital...i ended up using it for my media player on the network drive..I have a 2 tb wd and it works no problem.....weird...maybe i might have to play around with the 3 tb again..

I've heard WD externals have problems on ps3, however WD internals do not, at least mine doesn't.

and i have had this drive for well over a year and never had any problems with it before. I have only started to have problems in the last month or so

I had to on many occasions un plug it from the ps3 and hook it into a pc and defrag it... Then it would run fine for awhile then like crap and i would defrag it again and it would be ok... you could try that and see if it helps.. You may just have a bad sector on the drive and defraging would fix it without lossing data or games. Wd usb drives are real easy to get bad sectors on them...pc's seem to handle them better than a ps3 =)
