Out of the Loop for awhile, need some help upgrading Hdd & CFW

I haven't touched my ps3 in over a year and have been out of the loop. Need some help here. I have a slim ps3 with kmeaw 3.55 cfw and want to upgrade my hdd and update to the latest rogero 4.30 cfw. what are the best and easiest steps to accomplish this?

QA flag your console to go to rogero. And by update your hdd, what do you mean? Like put a bigger capacity on in? Just get a 2.5 inch SATA drive, 500GB last i knew is as high as you can go because you have to use 2.5 inch or the internal drive won't fit in the ps3. 5400 RPM is what I use.

If your are in fact updating internal, do that first and install 355 OFW, then Kmeaw, then QA flag, then rogero 355 v 3.7 (just to be safe), then rogero 430.

They do make a 1 tb that will fit inside a ps3 slim. But, from experience it's expensive and the ps3 doesn't like it when it starts to get a bunch of data on it. And then you start getting drive not found or corrupt. But they do make a 750 gig that works just fine.

You need a hard drive that's 9.5mm thick. Any bigger than that and it won't fit. Here is the link for the 750 gig it's like $85

Im upgrading to a 1tb drive ...this one here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152291

So, i should flash back to 3.55 OFW then, upgrade my hdd, flash back to kmeaw 3.55 cfw, then QA flag, then rogero 355 then to the latest one?

Well just know that anytime you remove an internal and replace it (or put the same one back in) the ps3 will format it no matter what. So be sure to back up the old internal before you remove it.

So backup old HDD first, put in new one install 355 OFW, then Kmeaw, then QA flag, then rogero 355 v 3.7 (just to be safe), then rogero 430. You may not have to install OFW nor rogero 355 but its better safe than sorry.

QA flag however IS A MUST!

You can use the back up and restore function if you have alot of PSN content stored, or if its just discs you have backed up then you can just highlight them in MM and copy to external.

yep like Rautz said, if you dont have a USB external then you'll have to FTP files to PC

The NOR/NAND backup is mainly if you plan on going to DEX (still good to have regardless if you brick for whatever reason) I believe Multiman 4.04.XX is where this was implemented first. I dumped my flash on Kmeaw.
