Arrow Use a connection to laptop for backup space.

Could there be a way that'll allow me to connect via the Playstation's 3 USB to my laptop's SATA port (only cable I have)? I'm thinking I'll have to find some software, partition the drive, or something; Is this possible? Reason is I need to backup a Playstation 3 and I am out of mass storage gear, I'll need to use my laptop I don't have the best option right now, let me know if I will be able to accomplish my backup task with this method. I havn't tried to connect (don't feel like it'll do any of my machines good to blind fire), I'll wait till I recieve advice and/or a solution.

If the external is USB, your computer should have USB ports, see where I'm going with this?
