You're right. Most hardcore CFW users have had their firmwares for a long time and compound that with people who either have no use for it or are cheapos who think paying for anything is some sort of moral sin will keep their CFW. There is a market for ODE devices specifically for local reseller (sceners who buy from stores and mod peoples consoles) as this is an easy to use hard to brick solution that doesn't cut you off PSN, works with OFW and allows for your pirating needs - that is something that CFW cannot do and is an appealing alternative to not only current members of the scene and their customers, but also to people who would rather not spend the time and money it takes to find a <= 3.55 PS3 or for various reasons perform the more high level downgrading process. Personally, I rather have the ability to retain PSN and OFW features 100% and boot games from a HDD all the while. I have no use for CFW in it's current state.
