I didn't understand a word of what you are trying to say.
Yes, this new IPF replaces singstar - that's the whole point. You now have /app_home free for games and no need for restart after you play a game if you want to go back to stealth/installPKG.
How you play your downloaded/pirated games is not my problem nor it is how you use your PSN/SEN account in violation of the TOS.

What if I don't have anything related to Singstar in my XMB? I'm looking for a stealth solution that doesn't require rebooting after I mount a game on app_home. I suppose that the standalone IPF isn't very stealth. Greetings from your romanian neighbour!

Hehe well what vikasnarula was trying to say is that the game title doesn't change when one uses the SingStar Replacement version of the installPKG application, and what he is also trying to say is that he thinks that it would be safer if one plays PSN titles that would match the region zone of the user's PSN account, and it would help if multiMAN detects the PSN titles and its gameID, or something like that, but then again, his level of English (no disrespect to the person you're replying to) isn't exactly top-notch either, so that doesn't exactly help anyone with trying to answer his question(s).

ok, i notice something .. after installing this its showing Singstar as "Install Package manager" permanently and not replacing with game title on every reboot, like it does on previous stealth mode.
i may be wrong and screwed with installation or something.. (i was having singstar installed previously and just install 2mb new mm pkg)
------
also i have one more suggestion, i think its more safe if we play same region game with similar psn account)
(e.g borderland.2.EUR in PSN Europe Account)
making new region account and switching in between is easy , but if some how it can categorize in mM region vise) that will be more safe.
Well, if you read Dean's response to that, you now have a separate IPF application in place of the SingStar XMB icon, but like with all XMB-level applications (the * /app_home/PS3_GAME XMB entry is merely an executable-mounting point/entry so DON'T COUNT THAT AS AN EXECUTABLE APPLICATION), their game names don't change as the applications aren't designed for that - in actual fact, that's what the * /app_home/PS3_GAME is solely for: to mount applications to the directory via the use of a backup manager, and thus, has a dynamic naming system for that very reason.
Also, it doesn't matter whether you have bought PSN games from different regions, you're still safe to use US-bought PSN games on an EU account on the same system, as most people, even on those who have an official firmware-installed PS3 have US-bought PSN titles on an EU account/EU system and they tend to play online with those aforementioned games without issues, and one example of this is here:
Lastly, if I read the following part of your comment right (assuming you mean whether the PSN games will show up with the gameIDs in the same way as disc-based games in multiMAN):

That's up to Dean as to whether he wants to make multiMAN display the PSN-based games with the gameIDs in the same way as done with disc-based games, but you can always use mmOS to check your game/gameID before even thinking about playing the aforementioned PSN-based XMB-installed game/games in the meantime.

Not on a game title basis, but rather, it will produce game/patch/boot history logs with SingStar's PSN gameID instead, but if your PS3 doesn't see an Internet connection whilst using the application, then you will be fine.
Also, this application (I think) can also be used without the SingStar XMB icon - try it for yourself, and use the simple ~250KB package instead of the proof-of-concept ~112MB package.

You're right. You can use this singstar IPF even if you don't have the 'mandatory' singstar icon. It is still using the SS ID.

LOL - well it doesn't help when I'm mentally "losing the plot" at an early age!

not really... me playing a JPN game, or a EUR one on my CDN PSN doesn't mean I downloaded it, all it means is, either a) I was travelling and bought it, or b) I imported it or c) one of my friends abroad saw the game and bought it for me (my friend did this for Red Seeds Profile, cause she knew I wanted it and knew everything but the menu was english, making the game totally playable for me)
If you're talking about PSN content, again, same thing, I was in a different country, someone I knew had a EUR account, used my PS3 and viola I have EUR content, and since it's on my PS3 I can access it from my account which is tied to a different region.
tl;dr: playing games from a different region isn't enough to ban a console on, nor is it a sign of a hacked PS3..

In a normal (OFW) environment applications can't access folders outside their USRDIR home folder. But on CFW the patches that allow us to access all folders of the internal hdd also allow the games to do the same. So any game dev can do a simple check if he can access for example /dev_hdd0 and will know that this is a hacked ps3 and proceed from there.
Well ... that's scary !
It is also an idea for an homebrew app that could deny access to other apps outside their "legal" usrdir scope ...
probably not needed yet (or is it ? - black ops 2), but it will certainly be in a near future.
