That didn't take long, shortly after we posted the news of AdrianC raising funds to buy a DECR-1000A machine to figure out the last of the PS3 Secrets, he was hit today with a "Cease and Desist" notice, and his PS3 blog was removed:

Shortly after the above tweet by AdrianC, his Twitter Account was also removed! -- Right away people jumped on it, it must be Sony the Evil Crab at work again, as RootedSystem was claiming so, and since alot of loyal Crunching members had donated to this research project of his, we decided to quickly dig into the truth behind this matter. --- What we found was not good at all, it seems AdrianC make up the whole story regarding the C&D letter himself, we uncovered his plot from a IRC log made just before his last tweet and the RootedSystem story!

I retrack my earlier personal statement of calling him a "FAKE and SCAM-ARTIST", I am sorry and I take those words back, as no one really knows what his reasons or actions for doing this are! -- So far after many pages of discussion on this forum and other 'scene' sites, the following different angles seems to be possible:

#1 - He was bullied into shutting down by these so called 'scene overloads', as he was becoming to public! (that seems to way the IRC log reads like to me)

#2 - The seller at the box didn't like all the public coverage in the forums, and want to get this research project out of the public limelight, and off Sony's radar.

#3 - AdrianC is just a nobody developer that was able get in with the right crowd of people, so he decided to use his power to gain another "devkit" for his collection.

There you have it the exclusive truth to the AdrianC matter, as for his reasons, god only knows, but I personally think this is the lowest move on this earth right now to lie to everyone that donated to him what was really going on. As for his why he did this, some claim it was from "seller" so no real legal action would be forecoming from Sony, others claim it was to stop him from releasing anything and he still plans to do so just not in the big bight lamelight. No one really knows for sure, it is just sad that whole PS3 'scene' always ends up in nasty mud-slinging personal 'drama' taken right out of a low-budget 'soap opera' move script!

Personally I saw this coming a mile away. IMO everyone who got donated got fleeced, but i do tend to assume the worst from people. I pray i am wrong. Also seriously hope he doesn't pocket that cool G and the prize money. Would hate to see him fuck everybody with no lube.

I am trying to hold back on forming an opinion until we hear some more on this, but I am feeling the same thing, with the exception that I did not see it coming a mile away.
