CANT you read? THE BD KEY cant extracted if ps3 isnt exploitable (MEANS NO CFW working no HARDWAREFLASHER Working no way to run code) So cobra team found a way to exploit the newer ps3 and they didint explain how they get it. Anyway the point if cobra doesnt tell which exploit they used on the newer ps3 to make it rune code, there will never be any CFW on the newer ps3 -.- is this so hard to understand? so no CFW only this shit ODE -.-
You don't need cfw to get the drive key. So stop. Please.

Dude, the BD-ROM key can be extracted from the BD-ROM drive using hardware and has nothing to do with traditional software exploits. Meaning they aren't using CFW on slim/sslim consoles. Period.

So you still didn't read what I posted? Dangwoot said you're thick headed and I think you're just stupid. Tell me; what would you do with the knowledge of knowing how to extract just the drive key from all consoles?

Would you program your own software ODDE? Some people ...

The speed could by dynamically allocated. We'll have to see. If it's not we could actually see some load time decreases as long as you use a fast SATA in your USB v2.0 enclosure. There's no need for USB3, it would of jacked the costs up and USB 2.0 is fast enough for no-lag gameplay (I know you didn't mention USB3, just sayin').

That site lives on Drama and sends morons even without their knowledge to come over here and spam; which I suspect Duggle has a long standing relationship with that site. However, pissy website admins don't bother me. That site used to be a reliable resource for info until a certain person took over. I even stood up for them back when I ran the largest Wii scene site and ps3news (then ps2nfo) was attacking the new kid on the block. However, it's pure bile now.

If you could run homebrew with ode why you cant burn it on a Disc and start homebrew over your device? Ode just emulates your device and cant do more. If you want homebrew on a ofw, first you need to sign your homebrew like Sony does, with the correct keys. To run homebrew its not necessary to know the drive key, you need to sign your homebrew that your ps3 think its sign by Sony. If it would be necessary to know the Drive Key to Start Games from BD it would be impossible for Sony to make a Game that could be started on each ps3 cause each ps3 has another Drive Key.

there are only two kind of people who want to know the exploit from cobra. First people are this one, they need for their own ode, so they can sell it for each ps3. Second people just dont understand how the ps3 works and believe all what first people writing and are writing same as first people.

ODE emulates parts of the security that you cant burn on to a disk.
    That's the reason why

But this security is only for the device and not for the software that would be read with the device.
if i am wrong please send me a link to read it myself.

I don't know anywhere its written because I learned it myself.
Look at a disk, in the middle of the disk there is a barcode, that's called a BCA code then next to that is a little grey area called the PIC zone. They can't be burnt to a disk and are stamped on by a different machine.
The ODE has to emulate that security for the games to run.
The EBOOTs themselves aren't signed like other EBOOTs we use.. Dean or someone else could expand on that further/better than I can. You would be limited with the home brew you could run.. eg multiMAN would not have all its options available.. only Lv2 apps I believe

The EBOOT.BIN (and other .self/.sprx files) for disc games are signed as regular non-NPDRM executables (like RELOAD.SELF, SHOWTIME.SELF included in mM/RetroArch/etc).

If mM is started via ISO on OFW + ODDE it will have exactly the same functionality as it had on 4.** OFW DEX few months ago.

If they release a tool to convert a folder to a proper ISO then you can pack any homebrew which is properly written and path-independent. If the homebrew requires access to the PS3 filesystem for temporary storage (like saving/reading settings, caching stuff) it will have to create a proper game-data folder for itself and work with that path (basically the app must follow the standard ps3 conventions for disc games). mM already has this support for over an year when I experimented with discBOOT and burned a disc with multiMAN as a game.

Here is an example of how a converted homebrew looks (in this case mM):

    multiMAN [PSMOVE STARTER DEMO].iso (23MB)
    Code:
    \PS3_DISC.SFB

    \PS3_GAME\ICON0.PNG
    \PS3_GAME\PARAM.SFO
    \PS3_GAME\PS3LOGO.DAT

    \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN
    \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\GDATA.DAT

    \PS3_UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP

So what you are saying dean is that a new PS3, with this OODE could potentially do all of the same things that multiman does on current CFW? There would be no need to convert games then, just simply convert mm and load the current structure of games? Launch emulators, etc, as well?
