Kaz Hirai: Sony will let Microsoft make first move
Suggests PS4 will be unveiled after next Xbox...
Sony CEO: 'Why go first when your competitors can look at your specs and come up with something better?'
In an interview with The Times, Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai suggested that it will let Microsoft make the 'first move' on the next-gen consoles.
This could mean the PS4 will be unveiled after the next Xbox, or even that it will not go on sale before Microsoft's upcoming new console?
In the Business section of The Times today, Hirai said, "Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?"
Probably both Sony and Microsoft executives have a clear understanding of their competitor's tech already, so it's more likely that the additional time would be use to adjust the messaging surrounding the announcement...

Nothing like a corporation saying they don't know what to do so they wait for the competition to come out so they can make something they 'think' will be better. If they weren't stupid, at the end of it all, they'd know that for the most part most games are going to be available on both console and with the way the PS2 was, they should already know that more processing power doesn't mean better games. I'd much rather play through the PS2 library of games instead of PS3 games.
Yes, Give Microsoft plenty of time to build up a library while you fumble around trying to make your gimped pc into a still gimped but slightly technically better pc. Serious, did they not learn from the ps3? Any time they give Microsoft to release before them, will just mean they have that much less time to catch up. I would rather have a slightly less powerful system with more games than a slightly more powerful one with less. And I doubt newer games will really use the full power as they will most likely be developed for Microsoft's new system if it is easier to develop for, and then ported over for the ps4. Sony is setting themselves up for a big humpty dumpty fall.
