PS3 Debug station - What can i do with this?

Hi there.
I bought a cheap PS3 out of a bankrupt's estate.
Then i saw, that it is a TEST Version of a phat PS3.
When i start it, i get the usual XMB, incl debug settings, with several settings in it (like rebug)
FW-version is 3.55
Problem is, it does not show me any usb stick, it doesnt even pup up.

BUT, it plays DVD discs, BLuray i have to test tomorrow. i also have to test original games. ijust got it a few hours ago.-

So what can i do with this?
Can i convert it to a retail PS3? 3.55 would beok for ROGERO 3.55 ==> 4.30

Do i need special CFW?
How can i do the firmware installation? i tried it with rogero 3.55 on stick via XMB , but it say: no firmware found..

Please let me know.

UPDATE: I found out, that it is a bluray player only: Serial: DECHSA00A
These PS systems were sent to filmcompanies just for testing.
So i think i can't do anything with this,although it has everything that a a retail PS3 has. (connectors and HDD,aso)

Don't those units have the same hardware as regular Debug/Test units?

I would look into the whole dex->cex conversion process (at least at first as research). I'd really be shocked if *nothing* can be done with that system.

i tited the DEX-CEX tut here, but it even doesn't let me install another firmware.
It always says, corrupt data, afer about 10 seconds searching my USB stick in recovery mode.
in XMB, it doesn't even find a update on my stick.
I tried to install a 3.55 DEX (with retail OScore), noway.
