Did nobody learn back in the psp days to wait a few days / weeks for problems, bugs, bricks?
Like when psp GEN firmware was released and bricked users shit..

I hear you. I have a slim CECH2501a 2009 / 10 model. It can downgrade to 3.40 but it's in the brick list.
..and users can see that list and still install it anyway with a "Caveman Forehead" menatality..
It's kind of funny..

I'm more unfortunate than you are in that regard sadly - I got a CECH-2503B model (320GB HDD) with a minimum firmware version of 3.50 - that's what held me back a lot more.

Yeah it happens to be one of the last slims which had a 3.40 stock.
When 3.55 CFW came out I knew I had to go to a place that rarely sold ps3's.
So I went to radioshack and lucked out.
