Many reports of problems and bricks on many websites
Sony just recently released v4.45 OFW, and tons of reports are rolling in regarding bricks and other problems on various websites including Sony's official forums, so PLEASE DON'T UPDATE your PS3!
Looks like Sony has an massive failure on their hands.
Tons of reports like this coming in:
When I start up the PS3 Slim today, it reported that it required to update to 4.45 (the version that allows you to disable trophy notification during game play). After the download and installation, the system reboot.
But after it display the PS3 logo, it went to the second screen (the flowing ribbon). It suppose to display XB next. but it never goes there. Just the flowing ribbon.
I can not even shutdown the system by press the power button. (It bleeps, but the system didn't shut down.) So I tried unplug the power cord, and plugin again. Still same problem.
Is there anyone from SONY here? Could someone help me to revert to the system before 4.45?
So be warned, for now please don't update to v4.45 OFW, until Sony releases a statement or a new official PUP for these problems!

The device is easy to install, use and upgrade too!
Simply, Cobra ODE has re-invented the scene, breaking down the barriers once thought to be impenetrable...
The device offers PS3 ISO's, homebrew apps and games, even on the latest 2k5, 3K and 4K systems and is fast and powerful enough to provide plenty of room for expansion of features in the future.....

Creators say next-gen version is planned as soon as PS4 and XB1 is available
Extreme Gamer is neat device that allows you to load up to 10 original discs, and access them via a menu on your console, and somehow the game data streams to your system via the USB and Ethernet port
A strange and weird device appeared at this week's E3 show, and it is 'Extreme Gamer', an 10 disc-changer for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and the creators claim their device is 'legit', which we are finding strange as currently the model they demoed was for the PS3, and how do they get their 'copyright protected special software' onto the PS3 to allow streaming of selected 'game data disc' via the USB and Ethernet ports, all current knowledge points to they would have to be using an 'custom firmware', unless they found a new way to 'legit' hack into the brains of the PS3, this will be one device for sure to stay tuned to for more info, to see how they are doing their magic.
The Extreme Gamer® is a multi-disc device that allows the consumer to load ten video games at a time into our console.
The Extreme Gamer® uses copyright protected software to relay information between our device and the gamer's existing gaming console via ethernet or USB connection.
Games will function as they always have except when it's time to change or switch games. The gamer will no longer have to physically remove the game that is being played, insert a new game.
The Extreme Gamer® will provide the ability to switch between games via our on-screen menu. Our interactive menu shows the gamer what games are loaded and allows them to easily switch between games without having to physically remove the game, and insert a new game.

Aldo updates his PS3 Tools Collection while everyone is too busy having a good time
Aldo has just recently updated his PS3 Tools Collection to version 2.3.8, which now includes updated versions of the Bruteforce Save Data, now at version 3.8.15 and Bruteforce EDAT Tool, now at version 1.2.1.
Changelog:
Bruteforce EDAT 1.2.1
New in 1.2.1: Integrated with JjKkYu's EDAT dev_klic bruteforcer tool 1.2 for even more superfast speed.
One interesting finding is that dev klicensees usually are found in the sections aligned to 0x80, 0x40, 0x20 or 0x10. These sections usually are between sections 12-15 and next to the end of the eboot/self, and the devkey is usually found in an offset aligned to 4. However, in some less frequent cases the key can be aligned to 1 or 2.
Ocassionally the klicensee is found near the offset of "NPWR" (trophies id).
Rogero releases what might be his last CFW release for the PS3
Rogero has now released his version of the 4.41 CFW, which is obviously built on the 4.41 official firmware, with no firmware version spoofs or firmware build hybrids, but those who use the deanK installPKG application via /app_home/PS3_GAME/ will notice that this has been removed due to real-life work commitments, thus the developer not having as much free time as before, and as a result of that, he also has stated that this may be his last CFW release as he "may not have the time to work on all the reversing/patching/building of future firmware versions".
Also, to compliment the release of this firmware, Rogero has released his NOR & NAND AutoPatcher application, which allows flash dumps to be patched with CFW 4.40/4.41 and factory service mode-free support.
