    ps3 E3Team announces their E3-ODE for the PlayStation 3

Coming Next Month, including support for both 3k and 4K PS3 consoles

Entering the Optical Drive Emulator marketplace is now the E3Team, which have released a short demo of their E3-ODE prototype working on an SuperSlim 4K console

We have not heard from the E3TEAM (E3DIY) group in a long time, but now they have suddenly reappeared with news of their own Optical Drive Emulator for PlayStation 3 users, and have released a short video showing their current prototype working on 4K consoles.

They currently promise units will be coming out soon next month, and will be able to offer them at an good price, with more videos and details to follow, but remember we already seen delays from the other two teams, and from the looks of this video, they are still in early stages, so it might be a while off before we see more updates from the E3Team on this ODE.

Here is their PR regarding the news: (rewritten a bit to make their english more clear)

E3 ODE, the Optical Drive Emulator made by E3TEAM, will be on the market at the beginning of next month.

It will support all PS3 models including the 3k and 4k consoles.

    Please note:

1: The beta hardware shown in the video is based on PC, so the data translation speed is slow, about 100K/S.

2: The official retail version will be a small board, and can run games direct from USB stick and the speed is similar to your original blu-ray optical drive.

3: It will forsure work independently with NO need of a PC.

4: E3 ODE works on any OFW on all PS3, include 3k and 4k console.

5: We will also release an special E3 ODE CFW for E3 ODE, so homebrew can run on it directly (include 3k and 4k).

6: E3TEAM always tries do its best for our users, later on we will go public with our final specical price, we are sure the retail price will be lower than USD70.

7: We will release more details and videos later.

Here is video to demonstrate our beta hardware running on a 4K console:

Also it should be noted now, that 'GaryOPA' have taken over the E3-Forums recently from 'Sonic-ISO', and we have big plans to improve them and make them more technical and open to all PS3 and 360 users of devices like their E3 Flasher!

    OFFICIAL SUPPORT FORUMS: E3-Forums

Stay tuned to them for more great upcoming news over the months!

$70 seems to be a far more reasonable price for this type of device. I'm interested to know if it's a solderless solution and about their CFW claims......

I do not see HDD cable and usb flash drive inside that 2 ports.

this method is too old, have to put Blu-Ray disc Formula one to play Dynasty Warrior ?

wondering, speed only 100K/s for transfer data ? WTF, netbook had FSB 533 MHZ for transfer, but that netbook was using 100k/s for transfer data ?

The beta hardware shown in the video is based on PC, so the data translation speed is slow, about 100K/S.

wait a second, I saw in that video, it was laptop or netbook or PC ?

    LOL

This seems interesting. How would it be possible to install a CFW on a superslim model?

I do remember that ream EDDY were the first one to get the 3.6+ public keys before every one (without releasing them) so may be they found the miracle...
But it could mean again just a CFW for the ODDE, reading the rest, they are talking about homebrews only, wich is theorically possible using those new PS3 ODDE, the idea was here long time ago according to Deank.
